Why You Should Choose Guarding South Africa (GSA)

Our Group’s foundation in the field of intelligence gathering is always evident in the manner in which we recruit and deploy our staff including our security guards.

Below we cover the areas that are considered when we employ our guarding staff:

  1. Security Risk Assessment
  2. Undercover Agents
  3. Guarding Recruitment & Selection Process
  4. Polygraph Tests
  5. Training & Development

Security Risk Assessment

At Guarding South Africa (GSA) we assure the safety and security of your people, property and customers through the customised integration of technology and professional personnel, delivering guaranteed value and peace of mind. Our Integrated Asset Protection is made up of six (6) key elements that we will apply to your business to create a master plan for your security program:

  1. Site Assessment:
GSA will conduct an in-depth survey of your facility, according to “Best Security Practices”. Including an analysis of demographics and incidents that have an impact on your facility.
  2. Policy & Procedure Review:
We’ll compare your current security policies & procedures to the site assessment, and suggest & implement improved security procedures. In many cases this can be achieved without a higher cost.
  3. Electronics:
GSA will evaluate your current electronic security system against your needs and advise on improvements. By integrating various systems, such as your current and/or new state-of-the-art technology, we can heighten the integrity of your security and this could result in lowering the operating costs.
  4. Intelligence:
We conduct a thorough assessment of your internal intelligence gathering capacity and level of business intelligence protection.
  5. Security Staffing:
GSA will evaluate your current security officer postings and staffing along with the above-listed elements, and make recommendations on improvements.
  6. Transitional Planning:
We assign a management transition team to develop a written timetable and measurable goals and objectives for transition activities, ensuring confidence in our clients and building our credibility.

Undercover Agents

We make every effort to recruit trustworthy guards. We even infiltrate undercover agents amongst our guards to “keep an eye” on them, and ensure they are not being drawn into criminal activities.

Syndicates are known to target security as a way to breach the first line of defence.

“You’re only as strong as your weakest link”, this saying holds truth and that’s why we have our undercover agents in place to spot these weaknesses before they affect our clients.

Guarding Recruitment & Selection Process

Our approach to contractual security enables us to manage people, procedures, intelligence and technology in a manner that achieves real value and peace of mind for our clients.

  • How do you know if the security solution that you have chosen is the right one for you or your company?
  • How do you know that the guard at your front gate is not actually part of a syndicate, planning to clear out your business or home?

Guarding SA relies on extensive screening processes when recruiting and undertakes intensive candidate evaluations for specific jobs.

Interviews are conducted; criminal records are checked along with qualifications and past employment history. Then we move onto polygraph tests.

Polygraph Tests

GSA will only consider hiring staff that have passed a polygraph test.

The polygraph test involves asking the potential candidate questions which enable the polygraphist to determine whether they are part of a syndicate or have committed any crimes. Our polygraphists have uncovered some scary facts from potential candidates.

Our employees are also tested randomly and on an ongoing process.

It is not legally enforceable to under-go a polygraph test and no-one can be forced to take it. However, most people with a clear conscience are only too keen to prove their innocence of criminal activities.

Training & Development

GSA is committed to employee training and development, which is second-to-none in the contract security industry.

Well-designed, professionally executed training programs help produce knowledgeable and motivated employees, which results in lower turnover, less absenteeism, and higher standards of performance.
